National Programme on Forensic Mental Health calls for proposals (UK)

The National Programme on Forensic Mental Health R&D supports the evidence base for the provision of services for mentally disordered offenders by commissioning research and developing research capability.
The Programme invites appropriately qualified researchers to submit proposals for the following research projects:
* Evaluation of Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion (CJLD) Schemes in relation to women offenders with mental health problems
* Safe and Appropriate Transfer of care for mental health prisoners
* Systematic Review of Research relevant to mental health of young offenders
* Delivering race equality in forensic mental health services
* Evaluation of novel interventions or innovative services for the treatment and management of personality disorders for offenders or those at risk of offending
Closing date: 1.00 pm on Friday 22 April 2005

Evaluation of pilot services for the assessment and treatment of dangerous people with severe personality disorder
Full details of the work of the DSPD programme can be found on www.dspdprogramme.gov.uk. A substantial programme of research is underway and the next major phase of research to evaluate the assessment and treatment provided in the pilot services is now to be commissioned.
